The Art of Disability (16h February - 2rd March 2008)

A Personal Perspective By Steve Wilkes

The Art of Disability - Steve WilkesA photographic & digital representation of the artist’s recovery from a major amputating accident. The work considers themes such as coming to terms with a new disabled self image, the experiences of being under heavy sedation for over a week & living with phantom pains & no limb.

This exhibition contains scenes of nudity & adult themes.

Most of my work is done in real time, with some basic adjustments in photoshop.

My influences are Cecil Beaton, Jan Saudek, Asya Schween and 'dev' art.
