sensing place, belonging and wonderment
Limousine Bull invites you to experience Alan Paterson’s ongoing creative, transformative processes in an exhibition that includes four large panels presented as a pair of open book structures. These structures, incorporating elements of painting and sculpture, hint to audience participation, but do not impose themselves upon us. Instead, the viewer is asked to reflect and negotiate their own way to engage with the questions these arrangements appear to ask.
Curiosity is celebrated. It is impossible to remain un-touched by the enthusiasm and pure joy palpable in these larger-than-life works. Whilst treasured responses to the natural world, evident through the considered use of medium in the process of art making, are successfully transmuted to us as participator.
This opportunity for participation and collaboration extends beyond the gallery and into the community. As part of Torry Gala, Alan will accompany an interactive exhibit at Tullos Primary School where he will also be available to discuss the broader concepts implied in his work and their incorporation at the school.
